Anandi & Amit – Indian wedding – Chase Center on the Waterfront, Wilmington, DE
I love photographing Indian weddings. The rich culture and traditions and ceremonies attached to the wedding itself, is a visual feast. Then there is the slightly chaotic air to the entire event, that in itself, adds to the charm. You’d also be hard-pressed to find a more friendly group of people than at an Indian wedding. So yes, I love Indian weddings! I had met Anandi and Amit in New York for their photo session in Central Park. So already knew it’d be a pleasure to photograph their wedding.
Anandi and Amit are from Delaware, and their wedding was held in the Chase Center in Wilmington. The venue was beautifully lit and looked truly impressive as you walked in. (The photos towards the end here show the venue itself.
Anandi and Amit, congrats!

Hey Neil, love the lighting, Group n wedding photos, How did you get to light wedding ceremony n where did you place your lights in relation to subject…
Neil says
The reception and the ceremony was lit with just the on-camera flash and the black-foamie thing.

Hi Neil,
I have been using your blog and books like a bible since I decided to go into wedding and portraiture. How do you manage to keep the shine off the faces in weddings? I cant possibly ask people to use face wipes while doing candids and I am struggling with this issue. Cutting down the light results in dull pictures so I am not sure what is it I am doing wrong.
Neil says
By not using direct flash, but only lighting them indirectly with on-camera flash, using the black-foamie thing.
