Just over two years ago, I photographed Christine’s sister’s wedding, and commented then that it was like being invited into the midst of the family for the day. Even photographing Christine and Frank’s engagement session felt like a leisurely catching-up. So I really looked forward to their wedding day and meeting Christine’s family again.

Christine and Frank, congratulations! It was a pleasure meeting the two of you again. : )

Melissa & Albert’s wedding at Skylands Manor, NJ
Melissa and Albert’s wedding reception was held at one of my favourite places – The Castle at Skylands Manor, which is set amidst luscious grounds. So given enough time with an adorable couple such as Melissa and Albert, the result will be gorgeous romantic images of the wedding day. Here are a few photographs from when we wandered around finding romantic spots as settings.

From earlier in the day, with Melissa’s prep …

Part of what makes my work as a wedding photographer interesting, are the fascinating glimpses into other cultures. According to Melissa’s Filipino heritage, there are certain symbolic traditions during the wedding ceremony that are adhered to, such as the cord tied around the couple, and the veil placed over the couple.

Much later in the day, just before the reception, Melissa slipped into a different dress, and she and Albert served tea to family members according to Chinese custom.

Back to the church ceremony …

… and then to the portrait sessions (and the reception) at Skylands Manor …

Melissa and Albert, it was a treat photographing your wedding!

It rained heavily on Regan and John’s wedding day, so for the portraits we had to come up with a variety of ideas inside at the reception. Fortunately The Manor has all kinds of nooks to use as romantic backdrops. And with a couple as easy to photograph as Regan and John, it just had to turn out very well.

Back at The Manor with the bridal party ..
(I have to mention that I’m especially proud of my lighting here.)

Regan and John, it was a real pleasure working with you as your wedding photographer.
Best wishes for your future together.

Katie and Keith’s wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Valley Regency, NJ. As a wedding photographer, it seems I’ve been lucky in just having couples who are a pleasure to work with, and Katie and Keith where no exception - a great couple and a bridal party that is fun to photograph and interact with.

.
A very emotional First Look early on in the day before the ceremony.

Everyone just loved Katie and Keith performing the choreographed dance sequence from Dirty Dancing ..

Katie and Keith, I had a great time photographing your wedding. Best wishes.

Jill and Evan’s wedding is taking place in just a few short weeks from now. We had to delay doing their engagement shoot until now due to Evan injuring his ankle, but we still managed to catch some of the last Fall colours at Skylands Manor for a fun photo session.

Jill and Evan, I look forward to your wedding.
