When I photographed Michelle and Nick’s wedding in December last year, we had agreed to do a Trash The Dress session in the new year when it was less cold. We finally managed to get together much later in the year though – nearly when Fall was over.
During the early evening when we started the photo session, the wind on the beach was starting to be come a little rough – all the better to add a bit of a dramatic touch to the images. I also took the liberty in posting the images here, to have enhanced that mood a bit with some Photoshop fairy dust.
Michelle and Nick, it was good to catch up with the two of you again.

I was first introduced to Bobby and Benny at Jennifer and David’s wedding a few months ago, so I was thrilled that their mom, Lori, asked me to do a portrait session of the two of them. We used the grounds at Skylands Manor for a backdrop, where the Fall colours were starting to come out. Bobby and Benny readily took part in the photo session …

… and when two energetic young boys fade a little bit on portraits, what better than a football to perk attention.

Claire and Ryan decided to do their photos with the bridal party on the beach after the wedding. And how formal can you actually be on the beach? Ryan and Claire and everyone else were just great to work and it was fun running around on the beach getting the photographs we wanted. The weather cooperated and everything came together just beautifully on the day.

With this image above we wanted something more dynamic – as if the wind was blowing Claire’s veil. So with the help of my friend Mark Gardner who worked with me on the day, we’d get some movement in the veil. Mark would flip the veil and rush to get out of shot. But with the wide-angle photos, there just wasn’t enough time for Mark to move completely out of shot, so I had to fiddle the image in Photoshop to get what we actually wanted. Yup, what you see isn’t always what you get.

Paulina and Danny’s wedding was held at Skylands Manor ..
.. which must be one of the loveliest venues in New Jersey. On this rainy day though, we were mostly confined to the interior of this rambling castle where all the guests and friends of our charming couple enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Paulina and Danny and everyone else took it all in their stride and made it the beautiful day that it was.

It’s a long hard day for a small flowergirl.

Paulina and Danny, congratulations, and thank you for having me as your wedding photographer.

Jaime and Matt are one of those couples that I had so much fun with while shooting their engagement session, that I just knew that their wedding day would be quite a special event.
Jaime and Matt’s wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Westmount Country Club (NJ). Even though the day started out drizzly, it did clear later on, allowing us to go outside for some romantic portraits of the couple. But earlier on when it was raining, this great venue gave enough opportunity to get beautiful portraits inside too.

And isn’t this just the most adorable little ring bearer, here clutching some petals from the flowergirl’s basket.

Jaime and Matt, thank you for having me as your wedding photographer, and congratulations!
