Rowena and Jared – wedding at The Manor, NJ
Rowena had a specific vision for her wedding day, with a retro styling. Combined with lovely soft light, the beautiful gardens at the venue … and with the two of them playing around for the camera, it made the photography so much more exciting.

.
Two of my favourite images of the day are these classic portraits of Rowena just after preparation. The interestingly patterned wallpaper (and sweet light), just enhanced the beautiful hat that Rowena wore.

Jared during his prep, getting help with the bowtie.

.
Before the ceremony, time for fun with the portraits of the bridal party and the couple ..

.
Rowena’s dad walking her down the aisle ..

I love Jared’s expression here, cleaning up after having cake smashed into his face.
(Oh, and he was a guilty party too.)

Rowena and Jared, congratulations!

I’m so flattered to photograph Casey and Shane’s wedding in 2011, and that they wanted to book with me so far in advance . So after our meeting, we did their engagement photo session immediately afterwards - using some of the last remnants of Fall colours for these these romantic portraits. Casey and Shane … thank you! I know we’ll have just as much fun on your wedding day.

As a wedding photographer, there’s nothing better than everything coming together on the day with a photogenic couple who is obviously in love .. with a bridal party that is excited to be a part of the special day. Michelle and Jerry’s wedding was no exception. Not only do the two of them have a special connection, they make a gorgeous couple .. as you can see from their portrait session ..

.
From earlier the day during Michelle’s preparation .. what flowergirl can resist trying out the bride’s bouquet?

A radiant bride before setting off for the church ..

For the portrait session we went to Lambert’s Castle, the well-known spot on Garrett Mountain in New Jersey.

.
The reception took place at Il Tulipano ..

Michelle and Jerry, thank you for having me there as part of your wedding day celebration!
Best wishes for your future together.

I met Bobby and Benny and their mom at a wedding last year, and we did a photo session shortly afterwards. For their photo session this year, we decided on some disused train tracks for a cool setting. We lucked out with some late afternoon sun hitting the trees in the background, bringing out the gorgeous Fall colours. Working fast so we didn’t lose the light, we were able to come up with some stunning images. The two boys seem to be pro at this by now!

I have to try not to over-use the word ‘fun’ on these posts on my latest photo shoots. This is tough though, since the very idea with the engagement photo sessions is to have fun, and get lovely relaxed portraits of the couples whose weddings I will be photographing. And then I have a photo session with a couple like Theresa and Jason – they were just so spontaneous and I simply have to try and keep up and grab the images as they play around and dance and just act their own crazy selves. And the only way to describe the photo session is … that it was a whole lot of fun!

Oh, and there was this thing about a sandwich. (Don’t ask me!)

Theresa and Jason .. thank you for a great shoot. I really look forward to your wedding next year!
