New York elopement wedding, City Hall, NYC – Ianina & Connie
With New York’s vibrant culture and the imposing architecture, it’s often a destination for an elopement wedding. Such a cosmopolitan city is then also a good backdrop for Connie and Ianina’s wedding. Connie is from Sweden. Ianina is from Argentina. They met (and live) in The Netherlands. And decided to get married in New York with an elopement wedding at New York City Hall. Truly international.
Connie and Ianina were up for the usual mini-adventure after their ceremony in New York’s City Hall – we visited various spots in the city that would lend a distinctive flavor and look to their photographs. We wanted some of that uniquely New York settings and regular sight-seeing spots, but also images that capture more of New York’s urban culture. In the photos below you can see the couple where there are dancers on the waterfront, with their video camera and laptop. Slightly surreal as a setting for romantic wedding portraits, but also representative of New York.
We started the photo session outside on the steps of the courthouse, and from there moved to various scenic places. I aim for as much variety as we can fit into just a few hours. There’s the architecture and the familiar New York skyline, and also photographs down in the subway. All part of giving the couple a series of photographs of their day that will be as memorable as the day itself – which is my aim as a photographer when I work with a couple who has their elopement wedding in New York.
Ianina and Connie, the two of you were just fantastic to work with and photograph. Best wishes for your future together, wherever you are headed next in this journey.
