Fall family photo session in New Jersey – Amy & Nick and the kiddos
The upside down kid has become a tradition with family photo sessions with Amy & Nick’s family photo sessions. With the previous family photo session with Jack and his folks, Amy was still pregnant with Gracie. This time, with the Fall family photo session, it was the four of them properly, and Gracie got to take part in this silly bit of fun. Jack was as happy as ever with his dad holding him upside down, and couldn’t get enough. We met up at Skylands Manor with its beautiful grounds for this fun photo session – the kids got to run around and play with the leaves. Hectic activity, but this is where we get spontaneous photographs that really show the spirit and personality of the kids.
I photographed Amy And Nick’s wedding a few years back, and have been involved in recording the progress of their family ever since. I asked Amy for a few words about the experience of having me as their photographer:
Neil has captured the most important moments of our lives. From engagement photos and our wedding, to maternity shoots and family photos, Neil has photographed our growing family for the past 10 years. What I love most about Neil’s photography is how he captures our family’s energy and personality in every photo. Neil doesn’t miss a detail when he’s shooting, and he has a rare gift to make you feel so comfortable that you barely realize your photo is being taken. We have as much fun taking photos with Neil as we do looking at the perfect results when he sends through the gallery of images. I love that every room of my house has a beautiful photo that Neil took. Nine years ago, Nick and I made two great decisions – getting married and hiring Neil van Niekerk to be our wedding photographer! We are lucky that he’s captured our family’s journey over the years.
