NJ Family photo session – Jack, and his mom & dad … and a baby sister on the way
It’s one of the more rewarding elements of being a wedding photographer – staying in contact with a couple after their wedding … and then having the privilege to photograph their 1st maternity photo session, and then all too soon after the 1st birthday baby photographs. Then eventually, a combination maternity session and family photo session. I met up with Nick and Amy, and by now 3-year old Jack … and his baby sister still on the way. Yes, Amy was nearly 8 months pregnant with this photo session.
Jack was a busy little guy, scooting all over the place. I would find a place to pose for a more formal family photo … and then Jack would be off after just a photo or two. Until we got to the next spot. Inbetween trying to convince Jack to stay put for a few seconds, Nick and Amy and I would catch up on mutual news. We have kept contact on Facebook, but it is always more interesting to chat in person.
I hope this set of photos shows some of the charm of this family. One of the starter photos was the regular upside-down shot – one of the ways to have Jack be still for a photo. From there on we meandered around Skylands Manor a bit – I love photographing at this expansive grounds with beautiful gardens.
Amy and Nick, it was wonderful to catch up again – can’t wait to meet the new little one.

Hi,
Great work.
I see that you are using external flash to light. Could you please kindly tell what lighting system are you using for this kind of portraits?
Thank you!
Janis
