Rebecca & Max – elopement wedding, New York

For Rebecca and Max, to get married in New York, was a wildly romantic idea. They are both from Denmark, and they planned this wedding for their vacation trip to New York. I met up with them at City Hall, where the marriage ceremony took place. I was privileged to be their witness.

When we were done with the wedding ceremony (and paperwork) at City Hall, we roamed parts of Manhattan for romantic portraits. What started off as a windy rainy day, turned out to be a clear sunshiny day. From City Hall we zipped up to Central Station and then Central Park, via the NYC subway. From there a few taxi hops via Times Square to the High-line. I wanted to give them a wonderful candid moments showing how they interact with each other, as well as stylish portraits with a touch of glamor – a perfect combination for wedding photography in New York!

Rebecca and Max, congratulation, and thank you for having me as your photographer on this wonderful day.

Neil, love the 1st shot of the of the post. A bit more movement by the on lookers creating some more blur woud have made this image amazing.

What shutter speed were you shooting at 1/15s or slower? Was it handheld/ with a monopod / tripod?

What a lovely romantic wedding idea and your beautiful images capture it perfectly. Only one thing bothered me… how on earth did Rebecca manage to get to all those locations in those high shoes!

And THANK YOU Neil, for a fantastic wedding shoot and thank you for being our witness! We had such a great time and we LOVE the photos! :) It´s a great memory to have of this special day.
Susie: Normally I can´t walk around in high heels, but I was actually ok. Neil was so kind to carry my “in-case of-foot-pain-sandals” in his bag, but I didn´t wear them until after the shoot. :)
