John’s birthday party at the Robert restaurant, NYC

As a surprise for him, John’s wife, Stacie, secretly arranged his 50^th birthday party to take place at The Robert – an event space in New York. Before we get to the photos of the event, I have to tell you about the venue, and the great care that was taken on the details and settings for the party.

The Robert restaurant, at the top of Museum of Art & Design, NYC. The Robert is renowned for its cuisine, and the brilliant view of Columbus Circle, one of the landmark scenic spots in New York. The vibrant interior of The Robert looks like a movie set from the 70’s or 80’s – bright colors and design.

The event planner, Mechelle, and her team at Dazzle Occasions did an impressive job with the decorations and details. Artistic and bold. It all blended so well with the décor of the venue.

The event immediately kicked into party mode when the elevator door opened with John and Stacie – John seemed overwhelmed seeing all his old friends and his family waiting for him there. The photos tell that story! So much love and affection all around.

Of course, with such an occasion, we had to take a few portraits of the couple. After the party, John and Stacie braved the cold night air, and we used the area around Columbus Circle as a backdrop for photos of them.

Oh, one touch that I liked about the party details – John is an avid photographer, and as presents to every guest, there were small gift-wrapped folios of his work.
