This colourful alley in Hoboken was just the place to properly start Jenny and Alex’s engagement session since it just seemed to fit their energetic personalities.

.. and from there we took a stroll around Hoboken’s main street and the waterfront area ..

And perhaps uncharacteristically, a slightly more serious portrait of the two ..

Jenny and Alex, it was so much fun to work with the two of you and I look forward to your wedding.

We spent part of this beautiful afternoon at the Hoboken waterfront with Michelle and Jerry for their engagement session. This always helps us to get a feel for the photography on their wedding day. You could tell the relationship that Jerry and Michelle share from the way he makes her laugh, and how her smile brightens. Michelle and Jerry, see you at your wedding in a few months!

A ferry ride across the Hudson and back to Jersey City was the start of the photo session with Megan and Mike. Then a leisurely walk around Liberty State Park until the sun went down ..

Megan and Mike, the two of you were so spontaneous and easy to work with, that I know the wedding will be a blast. I look forward to it!

Ashleigh and Jonathan’s engagement photo session in Manhattan was a very relaxed shoot. Just how relaxed? Well, on the drive in to NYC, I fell asleep on the back seat of their car. Ha! We started outside the apartment where Ashleigh lived and where Jonathan met her outside on their first date. According to the story, he was trying his very best to lean casually in a cool way against the post box while waiting for her. So it made sense to start the photo session there.

And from there we wandered around, looking for opportunities .. stopping for dinner and a PinkBerry frozen yogurt afterwards. Thanks Ashleigh and Jonathan, I had a good time hanging out with the two of you.

a Skylands Manor wedding
Francesca and Stephan’s wedding day was pretty incredible. The ceremony and reception was held at Skylands Manor, one of the very best venues here in New Jersey .. but this time the wedding was to be taped for a television program on TLC, and everyone outdid themselves.
First, the gorgeous couple ..

.
The non-stop rain we had in June this year didn’t let up for the wedding day, so the planned outdoor ceremony was moved to the chapel on the grounds of Skylands Manor. Overlooking a lake, it is just as picturesque as the rest of the grounds, and made a beautiful setting for the ceremony.

.
The adorable little flower girl, Avery, just had to stop and check in with dad half-way down the aisle. Avery has shot up since her baby portraits.

.
Francesca and Stephen turning to the guests and acknowledging their presence here at the ceremony ..

.
As can be expected from Frungillio’s, the caterers at Skylands Manor, the reception room was decked out in splendour ..

.
To cap off the evening, a mariachi band was the accompaniment during coffee and Viennese hour ..

.. with cigar rollers presenting their best.

.
Francesca and Stephan, congratulations! And a big thank you for having me as the photographer to be there with you on your wedding day.
