2008 overview – my favourite wedding images

January 26, 2009

It’s a while already into 2009, but having just caught up with 2008 weddings, this might just be a good point to look back at 2008 as I show off some of my favourite images in this slideshow.  Some of the images where chosen because they are beautiful to look at, others might evoke a fond memory of a cute moment, but they are all images that I am proud to have taken. I had to keep it to 3 images per wedding, and only a handful of photographs from engagement sessions.

And a sincere thank you to all my couples from 2008. It’s been an amazing time.

Amanda & Mark ..

January 16, 2009

My last wedding of 2008 … Dec 27 … but that wasn’t why I really looked forward to Amanda and Mark’s wedding.  With prior photo shoots, Amanda and Mark and I connected and had a great time, so I was expecting the same on their wedding date.  The photos here will show exactly that. : )

.
From earlier on in the day just after Amanda’s prep .. looking absolutely gorgeous.

The image above was taken by my friend Josh Lynn, who helped me out on the day.

.

Because of the icy weather here in late Dec, we did all portraits and group photographs inside at the venue.  Fortunately The Grand Summit Hotel (NJ) has an elegant historic feel, which works well as a backdrop for the group photos and portraits.  Of course it also helps that the bridal party was an energetic fun bunch to work with!

Mark, unstoppable during the final few songs of the evening ..

Amanda and Mark, it was such a pleasure being your photographer at your wedding!

Rinat & Howie ..

January 15, 2009

Rinat and Howie’s wedding celebration featured many of the  regular traditions of a Jewish wedding .. including joyous guests and family.  Their wedding took place at Chanticlair (NJ).

Rinat, during her prep as her veil is fitted.

.
Rinat, looking absolutely stunning, ready to leave to meet Howie and the rest of the family and guests ..

.
I love everyone’s reaction here as Rinat came around the corner to see Howie for the first time at Chanticlair.

.
Inbetween rounding up family members for photographs, there are always neat candid photos to be had ..

.
A final tender moment between Rinat and her mom, shortly before the ceremony.

.
Proudly displaying the ketubah ..

.
The Hora will always guarantee a few priceless expressions.  : )

.
Rinat’s dad and her brother … two characters!

.
One of the many lovely traditions during a Jewish wedding ceremony, is the Mezinke Tanz at the end of the evening. This dance is reserved for parents whose last son or daughter just got married, such as Howie’s parents on this occasion. Guests dance in a circle around the parents, where they are seated in the middle of the dance floor.

Rinat and Howie .. congratulations and best wishes!

Jennifer & Chris ..

January 14, 2009

Jennifer and Chris’ wedding day had a an intimate feel, suited to the couple’s easy-going friendly style.   The photo above was taken with the last bit of evening light out on the greens at the Roselle Golf Club where their reception was held.

.
Always a wonderful moment during any wedding – the groom’s reaction while watching his bride walk down the aisle ..

.. and her reaction in turn.

.
The last few minutes of the wedding day, with just Jennifer and Chris quietly dancing with each other.

Jennifer & Chris, best wishes for your future together.
