Jill and Evan’s wedding reception took place at Mayfarm Farms (West Orange, NJ). They had a large and energetic bridal party, and with guests who were in a partying frame of mind, it was a fun wedding from start to end.
Because it was cold outside with snow flurries, we did most of the portraits inside at this beautiful venue.

.
We did manage to take a few photographs outside when we arrived …

.. and we also sneaked outside briefly for some portraits later that evening, using the lights outside in the estate.

This photo of the flowergirl huddled up under the main table while listening to the toasts, was taken by Elisabeth Millay who helped me on the day.
Jill and Even, thank you, I had a great time photographing your wedding. : )

Jenn and Leo is another endearing couple whose wedding I photographed recently. Their ceremony and reception were held at The Colonial Inn, where this portrait was taken in the late afternoon sun streaming into the reception room.
Earlier on, for the initial portrait session with Jenn and Leo and their bridal party, we went to an outlook point along the Pallisades Parkway, with a clear view of New York. Even though there was more than just a cool snap to the air, everyone gamely hung in there for the photographs.

.
Even though it was too cold to venture outside again for portraits, we managed to find a sun-drenched spot inside the venue – just enough for a warm romantic glow to some of the images ..

.
One very enthusiastic flowergirl ..

.. but the ring-bearer needed a little reassurance before venturing solo down the aisle.

.
Leo’s company specialises in sound and lighting for events, and this was very obvious in how beautifully the reception room was decorated and lit.

Jenn hugging her dad at the end of their dance ..

Yes, that is indeed a beer can during the best man’s toast. : )
.

Jenn and Leo, thank you for having me as your photographer on your special day. Best wishes!

I seem to be blessed lately in just working with lovely couples who make wedding photography as much fun as it ought to be. Stephanie and Brian were no exception. But I already knew this from their engagement session.

.
Always a favourite image to catch – here is Brian watching Stephanie and her dad coming down the aisle ..

(This image is by Elisabeth Millay who once again worked with me.)

Stephanie and Brian’s reception was held at Seasons (in Washington Township, NJ.

With their engagement shoot, Stephanie and Brian got some serious air-time when they jumped for a few fun portraits. (Stephanie even lost her shoe!) We wanted to do something similar on the wedding day. However, since it was coooold outside on their wedding day, (and dark outside by the time), most of the portraits where done inside at Seasons. But Stephanie and her bridesmaids did give it their all for a few jumping photographs.

We did venture outside for a short while for some portraits with the beautifully lit surroundings of Seasons.

Stephanie and Brian, congrats! The two of you were just wonderful to work with.

Larissa and CJ were such an easy-going and lovely couple. Even though we never had the engagement session, it was plain sailing working with the two of them in photographing their wedding day. Oh, and Larissa warned me beforehand that CJ is kinda shy … well, I found the opposite. CJ is quite the character!

And everyone got into the party!

Larissa and CJ – best wishes for your future together. :)

Megan and Brendan’s engagement photo session was the last session of the year – there was a slight nip in the air, but the Fall colours were still beautiful. What I love about doing engagement sessions, is that it allows the couple and I to become familiar with each other and the entire photography process, in a relaxed environment .. such as this, walking around Skylands Manor (in Ringwood) with Megan and Brendan.

Megan and Brendan, see you again in a few months. : )
