I love it when a couple is willing to play along and help make the photo session fun. Stephanie and Brian’s were willing to try various jumping shots a few times. Of those, this image is a favourite one with Stephanie’s shoe flying off to the side during the jump. Stephanie, I know, I know, you might not think this is the best of them all, but I found it both funny and endearing. Thank you for making the photo session a really enjoyable one.

It was a visit to Hoboken’s waterfront (and station) for Amy and John’s engagement portrait session. Even when revisiting the same places for photo sessions, I try to make each photo session an individual one – but what really helps make the photo session unique, are the personalities of the couple. Which is another way of saying – Amy and John, I had a fun time photographing the two of you. See you soon.

Soft light from a late afternoon, and taking a little bit of time – all that is needed to get good portraits. Jennifer and Chris, it was nice to get to work with the two of you, and I look forward to your wedding coming up soon.

Amanda and Mark chose an urban setting for their engagement portrait session, so I met up with them in the West Village area of Manhattan. We walked around, finding all kinds of interesting backdrops in this colourful neighbourhood of New York – but as always, the success of a photo shoot depends on the couple being wonderful to work with. Amanda and Mark, I had a fun afternoon, and I really look forward to your wedding later this year.

For Karla and Ken’s engagement session, we roamed around the waterfront in Hoboken and explored a bit, taking our time to get some casual but romantic portraits.

Karla and Ken, we’ll see each other soon at your wedding. I look forward to it.
