Jessica & John …

For Jessica and John’s portrait session, we roamed around the Skylands Manor, (Ringwood, NJ) - and ending up playing among the stepping stones at the reflecting pond.  Jessica and John, we’ll see each other again in a few weeks at your wedding. :)

Caisey & John …

Caisey and John’s portrait session was one long meandering walk along the Hoboken waterfront, which offered us great settings to work with.  Caisey and John, I really look forward to your wedding day.  :)

Simone & Damian …

During the portrait session of Simone and Damian’s wedding, we had perfect evening light, lending a soft glow.  In the first image, the golden specks behind the couple are from the spray blowing by from a nearby fountain.

And when the light is this good, and you have a couple that is easy to work with, it is difficult not to get a little excited about the images and share them. (This photo was taken by Carlos Varela who photographed the wedding with me.)

The wedding was quite unusual in a number of ways.  The theme was ‘Dragons and Fairies’, and the bridal party were dressed with flair in clothes with an Oriental style.

Later in the evening, during the outdoor ceremony …

.
The centerpieces at the guests tables had figurines of fairies and dragons.

.
And finally, the party!

Simone and Damian, best wishes and a thank you - I had a blast photographing your wedding.

reportback: workshop on flash photography - Atlanta

For this workshop, we were fortunate in having the run of a large studio, courteously allowed us by Zack Arias of the One Light Work Workshop fame. The workshop was the regular combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice for the attendees.
Here I am (in crumpled shirt), explaining the histogram display to Stacey …

… and here is our beautiful model, Nicole, who helped us out on the day.

.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to Zack and Karen of the PWP forums for making this possible. Here’s the PWP report-back on the workshop.
