What I like about photographing engagement sessions, is that it not only is a chance to get nice portraits of a couple - but it is also a glimpse into the relationship that a couple has.  And then the challenge is to show some of that  connection - and use a setting that complements everything.  And so it was when I spent time with Megan  and Jon  in Central Park last week, taking their portraits.

It is always a pleasure to meet up again with couples whose wedding I photographed - especially when there is a new addition to the family.

I helped another photograher, JC Carley, to photograph Hallie and Michael’s wedding in  2004 - and so it was a real treat last week, to get to meet Ava - Hallie and Michael’s baby daughter …

Jennifer and Kwang in Central Park, rehearsing their first dance … and looking very elegant. I can just imagine how glamorous they are going to appear on their wedding day then.

Of the photographs I took at Shannon and Marty’s wedding day, this one image really encapsulated the magic of the day for me.  A wonderful couple, a beautiful setting, fall colours and great light … and then it all comes together in that one perfect moment.

Shannon and Marty - congratulations! I felt very fortunate to have been there with the two of you on this day. 

For their engagement portraits, Erik said the most appropriate place would be the park near their home, where he proposed to Jen a while back. And this Sunday turned out great for photographs, with the Fall colours providing a warm glow to everything.
