Thank you for your kind words in the other posting as well.

As for the umbrellas, they are thin umbrellas which can either be used as shoot-through umbrellas, or as reflective umbrellas (which will lose some of the strobe's light by letting it pass through.

So the intention there was to just flood with place with light from the high-mounted strobes.  Some of the light will go through the umbrella - and some of the light will be reflected and bounce from the wall. There was no real science to it - just the intention to flood the venue with light from the various strobes.
